STARBITE Anti-insect protection

In increasingly demanding environments, protection against insect bites is an operational requirement that’s becoming more valued and important in items such as: workwear, home textiles, bed linen and/or hospital technical textiles. Anti-insect finishes must combine effectiveness and durability. The STARBITE® label, driven by GP REPEL A-AMO, as an insect-repellent product, is designed to provide functional protection and comfort in a single finish—optimizing the persistence of the effect under environmental conditions while keeping the active principle protected.

The solution is designed to act against insects such as: mosquitoes, bed bugs, ticks, mites, lice, wasps and bees. In terms of performance, it is indicated as providing high durability, with an active functional effect up to 80 industrial washes, along with results that ensure a (95% > 99%) persistence in bite prevention. From an application standpoint, it is a finish intended to scale to production while maintaining functional value.

GP REPEL A-MO is applied in industrial processes using foulard or spray. For foulard application, it is worked at 50-60 g/l, with an impregnation of 80% and a curing time of 3-5 minutes at 150-120 ºC. For spray techniques, 50-60 g/l is maintained, with the same polymerization interval (3-5 minutes at 150-120 ºC).

To enhance the persistence of the effect, it is suggested to apply GP REPEL A-MO together with GP CATALYST A-MO at a concentration of 20-40 g/l. In this way, the finish is geared toward maximizing the persistence of the repellent effect after use and washing, with simple application and a focus on safety and comfort.
